Our Mission
Meiklem Kiln Works aims to enhance the existing arts
community in Norwich, Connecticut and surrounding areas
by offering a venue for individuals of all levels to learn and
hone skills in pottery and other fine arts. Our gallery
provides a venue for fine artists to exhibit  and sell their
work.   The teaching studio also provides outreach to area
schools, senior centers, community groups and
corporations who wish to incorporate clay and other arts
into their existing programs.
Classes:
Meiklem Kiln Works offers a number of clay and art classes
including wheel-thrown pottery classes for adults and children
as well as a parent/child class for families.  Our art classes
range from beaded jewelry to watercolor.  The studio offers
after school programs for children and we invite local
businesses to participate in day long team-building workshops
catered to their individual team needs.

Artisan Gallery:
Our unique Artisan Gallery always features the pottery of
Lyndsay
Rae Meiklem and quality fine art pieces by local artists
of various mediums. If you are interested in exhibiting in our

Birthday Parties:
The studio offers a variety of art inspired birthday parties
ranging from clay, felt making and beaded jewelry.  Parties are
catered to individual needs and can accommodate up to 12
participants from 6yrs and up. Let us help you celebrate your
inner child! Call today to reserve your date.

Team building Workshops:
From girl scout troops to corporate groups our team builders
will cater a program to meet your needs.  Workshops range
from 1 1/2 hours to full day and incorporate art in a playful,
positive environment that can improve any group's dynamics!

Private Lessons:
We offer private lessons at a rate of $25/hr (1 hr minimum). A
parent and a child under 10 yrs old can attend a private lesson
together for the same price.  

Annual Sale:
Every November for 8 yrs Lyndsay Rae Meiklem has been
holding an
annual sale  . Beginning in her parents garage,
moving to the original studio space in Yantic and finally to the
new facility in Bozrah. "It's always a pleasure to share my work
with the community. I love the feedback and the thought that
my work is enjoyed in many homes every day.

"Centering Seniors":
Our traveling clay program will happily accommodate senior
citizens in assisted living, senior centers, nursing homes,
community centers etc.  Our hand building with clay workshops
are therapeutic for the mind and body. Each participant can
create their own work of art without the worry of traveling tour

Community Outreach:
Meiklem Kiln Works prides itself on reaching out to the
community whenever possible.  Once a year MKW participates
in the
Annual Empty Bowls Project to raise funds for the
Norwich Soup Kitchen.  In July each year MKW hosts an annual
Arts & Wellness Fair which showcases local artisans work and
local business owners who promote wellness through their
work.  

Girls Nights Out:
Looking for a fun evening out with friends? Let us design an
evening to remember. Choose from hand building with clay,
clay on the potters wheel, beaded jewelry, needle felting, scrap
booking or card making. We'll provide the instruction and
supplies and leave the creativity up to you!
